Toyota UK Production Goes Green

After receiving the go-ahead from the local authority, Toyota is set to advance its ambitious 17,000 solar panel project in Derbyshire, England. The Japanese automaker has, in fact, already begun to make room for the impressive solar panel farm on a 90,000-square-meter (~986,751 square feet) plot of industrial land.

"Generating solar power on-site to supply electricity to the plant underlines our commitment to do even more to further reduce our carbon footprint and is yet another example of our environmental leadership,"1 says Tony Walker, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Manufacturing UK.

Toyota Now Most Valuable Brand

Until recently, BMW was reigning champion in the auto industry's continuous game of "king of the hill".  That was, of course, until Toyota surpassed the German leader, claiming the premier post for itself.
