Toyota Announces Big Plans for August

At the end of August, Toyota Motorsport GmbH will attempt to race around the world-renowned N?reburgring Nordschleife in record time. Specifically, they're hoping to break the electric vehicle (EV) lap time, which is currently set at an impressive 9:01:338.

In addition to resetting the EV lap-time benchmark, Toyota is hoping to prove EV racing is just as capable of putting audiences on the edges of their seats as a conventional race powered by environmentally-damaging fossil fuels.
